I know I’ve mentioned this fragrance before but the thrill of it just never goes away. It’s designed by Guerlain to spray over your cashmere – whether it’s a scarf, a blanket or a sweater – as a final, luxury flourish. It’s a powdery fragrance (which I always love) that is soft and elegant – if you remember the smell of older lipsticks, it’s not too far away from that.
Guerlain has it as a unisex fragrance which of course, any fragrance could be, but to me it’s distinctly feminine (reminds me of the inside of my grandmother’s handbag for some reason – where she kept her powder compact, her lipsticks and a silk scarf amongst the sundries). Notes are iris, lavender, bergamot and mandarin with down notes of cedar, vetiver and musk.
The notion of a cashmere spray (I think I remember they also do a lingerie spray) is too good – one of those things you could never sensibly justify no matter how hard you try but it’s all the better for that because it feels almost illicit. It’s also hard to come by which is probably just as well – you’ll only find it in select branches of Debenhams and House of Fraser.
