[productsample] It’s not just me that put the heating on last night, is it? Somehow my house seemed colder inside than it was outside, rather unfairly. So, I watched Bake Off under a blanket with the fire on and the Elm Rd Chalet candle burning.
Chalet is part of the new Studio Collection from this brand launching on the 16th September and is a perfect segue into autumn with its juniper and pine notes that don’t quite say ‘festive’ but do definitely evoke those cosy feels of cooler, darker evenings.
It struck me that Chalet is the ideal candle when you’ve got a cold or a chill – those pine notes smell vaguely medicinal in that they evoke a decongesting and clearing vibe much like a eucalyptus fuelled bath might. There are top notes of Allspice and bottom notes of cedar, sandalwood and labdanum making it enveloping and mood soothing. Add a snuggly blanket, a hot mug of sweet mint tea and definitely a biscuit or two and that’s pretty much the perfect evening right there. I don’t know this brand terribly well but I’m curious about their collections, especially Happiness, a blend of bergamot, neroli, mandarin, rosemary and pine needles – who wouldn’t want that! The candle is £30 HERE if a bit of olfactory joy is what you’re craving, but you might want to wait a week for Chalet so you’re al ready for a bit of autumnal nesting.
