I’m loving all these new launches from Chanel – they just keep coming! No.5 is my favourite of all the Chanel fragrances – I like the sweet, powdery nature of it and I’ve known it so long now that its notes are embedded in my soul I think. I don’t wear it as often as I used to but it’s just always there and I always come back to it. So, two new No.5 L’Eau, the lighter, more fresh version of of No.5 now has an all-over spray (£49 HERE) and a hand-cream (£52 HERE) in the new packaging (at the time of writing there is 10% off at John Lewis in the links).
The spray is more of a mist – it’s the perfect ‘spray, delay, walk away’ (if you watch Queer Eye this will make immediate sense, if not, spritz the air, wait a moment then walk through it) product because each drop of mist is loaded with fragrance. When you think of mist you imagine light, but I found this to have plenty of perfume to it although it’s not as long lasting as a proper perfume.
I’m so welded to the idea of Chanel No.5 being a fragrance that I don’t think I like it as much in a hand-cream. It seems too functional a product for it somehow and I’d rather have it misted in my hair or on my body than on my hands. Just a personal preference – but perhaps you know what I mean. Anyway, these are both very newly launched if you’re having a moment of decadence so there should be plenty of stock around. My information doesn’t say limited edition, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the spray at least was for a short time only.
