I’m a sucker for a mini fragrance bottle – so it’s always appreciated when one comes my way; somehow they’re far more exciting than a full size! I don’t think that Boucheron, as a perfume, is well known to everyone because the Boucheron origins are in jewellery, founded in Paris in 1893. They opened in Place de Vendome and specifically in a corner that gets the most sunlight so that their jewels would dazzle all day. I love this! It makes me wonder why all jewellers aren’t toughing it out to be in sunny city squares.
QUATRE is so called for the famous Boucheron QUATRE ring (no, I don’t know why it’s in capitals..but it is..) – it comes in many variations but the basis of it is four rings as one (represented by the lid, even on the tiny sample). It’s so sweet really – two rings together symbolise two people in love, so I guess you could say this is double the blessings. The fragrance itself is one that sits so easily on the skin despite having musk as a bottom note. It smells subtly expensive (which it is!), fruity and floral and much as I hate to be seduced by a press release, yes, sensual.
Notes include bitter orange, green tangerine, red currant, wild strawberry, jasmine sambac, rose and then woods and musks. It’s a beautiful blend because while you can’t specifically pull out any one note, they all join together so perfectly that it’s an instant natural fit.
Boucheron QUATRE EDP smallest size is £39 (which I guess isn’t all that expensive) and I’d definitely recommend that if you’re passing a perfume counter, do stop and try. I’ve spotted it for £35.10 HERE if you’re prepared to take my word for it!
