After such a deluge of rose fragrances, these citrus based perfumes are looking pretty good right now. I love a rose scent, but Pomelo is a distinctly favourite note of mine – there is just something about it that hits the spot with me. I’m obsessed with Jo Loves Pomelo, and didn’t expect anything to live up to that because it’s so imprinted on my brain.
Because Atelier Cologne Pomelo Paradis has a distinct cologne profile, it’s a more masculine and sharper citrus at first, but once it’s lived on your skin a while, turns warmer and softer. I hear an awful lot of guff from fragrancers in particular, but the creators have this to say about the fragrance, “Pomélo Paradis marks the inevitable encounter between a man and a woman always destined to be together.” I know it’s flowery talk, but it really does sum up the essence of the masculine/feminine marriage of this perfume. It’s got to me a little bit, this one!
Atelier Cologne isn’t a brand I know well at all, so I’m very pleased to discover it and looking forward to knowing more about them. Their European site offers a sampling service with individuals (EU3) or sets (EU25) and the set price at least, is refunded if you buy a full size. You can find it HERE. Otherwise, Atelier Cologne Pomelo Paradis is £90 HERE.
