[unpaid/sample] While I’m on the topic of sleep, my friend Daisie’s bamboo sleep wear is a revelation. You might remember Daisie Smith from her Beauty’s Big Sister YouTube channel and social media – Serena Days night wear is what Daisie did next :-).
I think the target market for this collection is anyone who wants comfortable sleep wear – I am super fussy about what sheets I have and haven’t looked back since I discovered Uniqlo Airism (on sale – it’s HERE but measure your bed first because it doesn’t come in exact UK sizes – non-affiliate HERE ) and the days of sleeping in any old thing are long gone. I need breathable, ultra-soft and moves-with-me materials and all those boxes are ticked with the Serena Days set I was sent.
I think you can see from the pictures how incredibly soft the fabric is. A few years ago, bamboo as a fabric felt a bit ‘alternative’ but manufacturing processes have improved to the point that it one of the softest, most breathable textures you can find. It’s almost like mercury in its fluidity – it skims the skin with no discernible seam feel, it insulates in winter and cools you down in summer while absorbing moisture (hot flush anyone?) without turning into a damp rag. It’s also a far more sustainable fabric that’s easier on the environment.
There are several style choices – from t-shirts and hoodies to long and short bottoms and several neutral tone colour options. This type of fabric is an excellent mid-life option although I declined to model my shortie set to spare us all! It’s super comfortable without looking either too ‘young’ or too frumpy, it will temperature adjust along with you and as our skin becomes more sensitive (fabric ‘crease’ pattern all over your tummy?) as mine has, will not leave you twizzled up or scratching at seam rubbing. It’s the fabric alternative of the silkening lavender balm in my previous TBS post, so well done Daisie! You can find Serena Days HERE, with prices beginning at £22 – there’s even an option to personalise although if I need my initials to find my own clothes, my midlife has well and truly moved on :-).
