[purchase/affiliate/ad] I’m lucky to have a Jigsaw shop both locally and at Charing Cross where my train goes into if I need to go into town. Last week I had a quick meeting and on the way back stopped in the store, inevitably leaving with the most lovely top that I know I will wear and wear. It’s in the main picture and coming up below.
The strange thing about it is it’s black in some lights and navy in other lights – the colour is called ‘Slate’ on the website, so we’re no nearer knowing quite what it’s meant to be. I wear very little navy but am nonetheless delighted with it – it’s such a ‘me’ kind of top – nice and loose, floaty and two simple tiers in the design. It’s not fussy but it is exactly the sort of top I know I can put on when the weather is a bit warmer and be happy all day. I get self conscious about my arms from time to time (less so after hundreds of planks in yoga) so this does a great job of covering up (for those low confidence days) while being just a whisp of fabric to stay cool. The best bargains, I am sure, are the thinking ahead ones. It’s reduced from £110 to £44 in sizes 6-16 HERE. I’m wearing a size 12 and it’s exactly right.
Other tops that caught my eye are these two – the Graphic Poppy Wrap Top (green) sums up one of my fashion envies – people who can keep a wrap top in place. Any I’ve ever owned always seemed to wander so my cleavage was always either inappropriate or lopsided and heaven help anyone if I leaned forwards. However, whether it’s a carefully placed safety pin or some genetic magic, I’m always envious of anyone who can wear them well. This is £33 from £110 HERE and a little bit of early spring colour helped by a button fastening that holds the wrap detail in place. The silky Blue Cheetah Print is much more my comfort zone – I’m still mulling it over but what an easy wear! Work zoom, dinners – or even snazzing up your jeans and boots. It’s still available in 6, 8, 10 and 16 HERE. It’s £60 from £120. Loving the use of older models on the website, by the way, although realise there is a lack of size diversity.
Even though I now have a grey cashmere hoodie (wearing it right now, actually), above right is Jigsaw’s version in a rib texture cashmere. Pretty much like wearing a cloud and all the better for being reduced from £140 to £98 HERE. Sizes left are XS and L – I would personally take an L because these things are all the better for being sloppy and oversized. Below it, in the picture, is the Slouchy Rib Tie Cardigan in navy (grrr!) which is a wear-anywhere-even-in-bed kind of item that’s very now and immediately conjours up a sofa afternoon. It’s available in XS, S, M and L and is reduced from £165 to £82. Finally, the collared ribbed sweater in navy or calico – I LOVE a collared sweater. For my own taste, I like them looser than this but they’re such an elevation on sweater style while keeping you snug as a bug. It goes up to XXL from XS and all are still in stock. If you’ve ventured into flared jeans again, this is your perfect match, but it’s equally at home with a floaty skirt or leather (ish) skinnies. It’s £66 from £110 HERE in the navy, and full price in calico. I have no idea why.
This is probably the easiest thing you’ll ever wear. I love this style of shirt in a loose boxy cut that you shove on over jeans and flip flops – they never don’t look effortless. This is a pale lilac shade (there is a sage green) and again, if you can forward to spring and summer, it’s an absolute win. It’s in a viscose sateen so there’s a sheen to it and is reduced from £90 to £36. All sizes are still available HERE.
Finally, a quick look at accessories for any last minute gifting – Jigsaw purses and clutches have been my go-to gifts for girlfriends (I think everyone has had one so I can’t do it any more!). We still need coin-purses for parking and trolleys so the circular versions in blue, brown or silver are perfect at £18 each instead of £30 (stash them in the birthday present cupboard!) HERE. The wristlet clutches too are a bargain at £31 instead of £45 – I’ve been unimaginative in my screen-grabbing here because there are six colours. Find them HERE. It’s unusual for Jigsaw to have a pre-Christmas sale – usually they are the last store on the street to go into sale. I remember hanging on to my Christmas money with difficulty waiting for it. There are SO many bargains, it’s worth spending some time on the site and as I said, if you can shop for next season rather than this one, there are even more. Non affiliate link is HERE.
