So, I can tell you that this feature started off with a full crochet brief but oh my goodness! As the current trends stand, for crochet, read naked, and frankly I am not ready for it. There’s so little er, string, between the holes and I couldn’t find any printable occasion for wearing most of it. So, I’ve compromised and gone for crochet detail with a couple of exceptions.
Hush just get it right every single damn time, don’t they? This is such a ‘me’ kind of outfit but this crochet detail t-shirt is going to be at home with a maxi skirt, white linen trousers (preferably on a sun-drenched Greek island) or cut offs. It’s £45 in sizes XXS to XL HERE.
I don’t often get excited about belts (too utilitarian) but this, around your hips or waist, with any maxi-dress you choose is just lovely. You can, of course, wear with jeans or any summery trousers, linen jackets or shorts just to show that you know fully well that crochet is a thing. It’s £25.99 HERE but going low stock on Large.
This flowy top has a crochet detail on the cross-back – it’s perfectly styled with jeans but I’d wear with slouchy harems or any loose fits. It’s kind of perfect for holidays, slopping about in flipflops when your skin is just sun-kissed and there’s no breeze at all. Actually, I’ve literally just bought it! It goes sizes 8-18 and is £24.99 HERE.
Boden would like you to have a cute little crochet lemon on your French style navy t-shirt, and I can’t say I disagree. Sizes XS to M (larger sizes have sold out) HERE.
The exception to the detail rule – I love this chic mini-but-not-too-mini from GAP for £50. Accessorise with literally anything – just a pair of sunglasses if you please – or nothing because it’s lovely as it is. Sizes XS to XL HERE. Can lend you a small black poodle to complete the look….
Finally, never don’t wear the shorts! I’m so over wondering if my limbs are ‘too old’ for the fun stuff. My friend Gen (60) has these and looks a million dollars. Only sizes L and XL left – I would probably buy L for myself – £18.99 HERE. They key to anything holey is to wear skin tone matched underwear underneath. Go straight to M&S’s neutral tone collection that caters to all skin tones HERE.
