Friday Treat: Boody Active Wear

Boody Active Wear

It’s so many years since I’ve done any formal exercise that I have no proper kit for the new class I’ve just started attending. I walk my dog every day and am always buzzing about so I didn’t really feel the need to do anything else until I realised how poor my upper body strength is. All of a sudden, I started to feel that my arm muscles were quite weak so I started a local stretch and tone class that’s a combination of yoga, pilates and strengthening. I was the only person there in actual track suit bottoms and an old t-shirt. I really had no idea how fancy exercise kit could be!

I love the Boody brand anyway (they use bamboo fibres that are great at controlling temperature) and have several things already (mainly tanks and camis) – I’ve even persuaded Mr BBB into a Boody t-shirt. I generally wear the cami and tanks for sleeping in or under sweatshirts or jumpers for that extra layer your mother always told you that you’d need and you never thought you would. So, the Racer Back Tank is now mine and ditto a racer back sports bra. I love a racer back style for general wear so it’s ideal in that respect. It’s a super-fine, almost silky material that gives you loads of room and easy movement – it’s made from bamboo derived viscose so it wicks away any sweat and feels cooling. I chose a medium – I’m a standard size 12 – but next time I might go large because I like things very loose. It sits at mid hip on me.

I possibly don’t need to say that’s not me 🙂 but it gives you an idea of the loose fall and fit. The racer bra goes nicely underneath although I’m never bothered by straps showing. If you’re big boobed, you might need more support than the Boody bra gives – I’m a 34D so it’s fine for me and while it is supportive, I might not want to go for a high impact run in it. I wouldn’t in anything to be fair. It’s great for yoga or pilates though. So, the bra is £29.95 and the tank is £26.95 but the brand does run offers so it’s well worth signing up for their newsletter (one of the only times I’d ever suggest that but as an example, they have a buy one get one half price on all underwear at the moment) and you can get 20% off using code BRITISHBEAUTY20 or following this link HERE. I’m tempted to have the racer back tank in white as sleepwear and keep the black for class.
