The Body Shop Lemon Purifying Range

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/prioradrelationship] I was testing multiple products yesterday with the new Body Shop lemon collection top of the list. It’s very simple in concept – to bring together a group of lemon essential oil infused products that are either antibacterial, cleansing or protecting – or all three. Citrus fragrances are nature’s cheer-ups – the zingy notes that make us smile because they’re familiar and uplifting. I’ll start with the Purifying Hair & Body Wash in the main picture. I don’t think I’ve ever used a two-in-one before – I can’t remember doing so, anyway – and have always had a suspicion that a hair AND body wash will be great on the body but not so great on the hair. However, using this one has put paid to that assumption – it was thoroughly cleansing and softening as well as giving off some gorgeous lemony notes while washing. It only stayed as a trace of a scent after I’d dried my hair but as part of the wash experience – heavenly!

As you can see, there is a Hair Mist to keep the lemon scent in your hair if you wish. The fragrance stops short of being lemon meringue pie sweet, instead, smoothing over the sharpness with just a sprinkle of sugar without losing the fresh peel tang completely. Lemon fragrances can be a bit Cif if they’re not treated right and I think it’s sweetened just a bit so it doesn’t smell like you’ve been cleaning the bathroom. There’s a Face Wash (I haven’t tried this yet) and a Hand & Body Lotion which is as nourishing as you’d expect but also note that the double duty products are cutting down on extra product offerings.

The Hand Sanitizer is as much like a gin and tonic as you could hope until the alcohol dries away – and even then, there’s still a hint of Gordon’s somewhere. Other gins are available :-). The product that will see the most use in our house (I’m keeping the hair and body wash for myself and not prepared to share unless heavily pressed) is the Hand Wash – it’s just a pleasure to wash with. Most of the bottles are recyclable and everything is vegan with prices for smaller bottles starting at £6 HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
