I’m a big fan of beauty products that don’t promise the earth and are simply there for enjoyment. The Temple Spa In Good Spirits Energising Bathing & Massage Oil isn’t about looking 20 years younger or banishing cellulite or any of the other things we should (apparently) be worrying about – it’s simply there for the sheer pleasure.
It will, however, give you nicely softened skin (thanks to grape seed, sunflower and apricot kernel ols) if you choose to use it as a massage oil, or if you take the bath option, it transforms into a milk. You get a good blast of mandarin, grapefruit, lemon and a bit of peppermint that’s refreshing (although I find overall it has a bit of a ‘soapy’ scent to it) and designed to pep you up and boost your mood.
I think mood boosting is definitely achievable by aromatherapy, although a blast of your favourite perfume can do exactly the same – I have fragrances that make me smile as soon as I smell them (Jo Loves Pomelo is one), but you have to find the notes that really speak to you. Temple Spa In Good Spirits is a sort of ‘I’m sick of February’ pick me up. Its £24. Unbeliveably, for a product that arrived only a few days ago, it’s not in stock on the Templespa website! However, I did manage to find it as part of a trio with the self explanatory Work It Out and Drift Away which might be more fun anyway – it’s HERE.
