MOR Correspondence Cyclamen Tuberose Soap Bar

I can’t be the last person in the world who loves a proper soap bar? In my kitchen I have the Jo Loves Pomelo handwash which I know is a complete luxury but I am properly addicted to that fragrance (HERE) but in the bathroom, by both the sink and bath, I have proper soap. In the shower we use gels usually.

Mor is quite an under-rated brand in the UK – it’s never quite settled to a comfortable home and it seems to be stocked piecemeal whenever I do see it in a physical store. Feel Unique has a very good selection (try the Lip Macarons) that includes these chunky soap bars. The fragrance I have above is Cyclamen Tuberose which is rather old fashioned but in a good way. It’s powdery-flowery and generous on fragrance so you get a beautiful waft of fragrance as you wash. As with any chunky square soap, it’s not exactly user friendly for the first few goes – you need to soften the edges I think (and why brands don’t just make rounded edge soaps I don’t know) before it feels safe in your hands. Anyway, it’s a brand worth investigating if you don’t know it (HERE) mainly for its pretty things with a twist. The soap is £9.

Each Christmas we have a continental market in the grounds of the city hall. A guy comes over from France and has a soap stand. I stock up like mad on the vegetal bath size bars, which are better than L’Occitane. Goats Milk, Asses Milk(yes real asses milk is used), are my favourites. He also has gorgeous fragrances like rose, sweet pea, etc.

So yes I love having a real bar of soap in the bathroom

I LOVE MOR, but now find it very hard to track down. I used to find it at Space NK, ((often in the sale, even better!). Sometimes Frasers and in the odd lucky occasion TK Max – the packaging is just stunning and the fragrances equally so – I’ve just been using their blood orange lip macaron this morning!

I’ve almost given up on gels & use soap in the shower: a bar will last a lot longer than a bottle, there’s no packaging (not always recyclable!), and both my partner & I can use it. I mainly shop in TK maxx for them, they have one with oaty bits which last forever. The only small trouble is to find unisex scents we both like, and we do use shower gel when we travel as a soap wouldn’t be very practical.

Liquid by the sink but bar in the bath. My mum has more variety because I often buy her bar soap for birthdays and Christmas. Last year’s main ones were Miss Dior and Jo Malone Red Roses with L’Occitane mixed in. I stick to Lush’s Honey I washed the kids but I will definitely look at MOR come present buying time. It’s a struggle to find a variety of soaps for my mum!

ooh – a Dior soap is a wonderful thing! I like Chanel soap – I have a Chanel No.5 but cannot bring myself to use it.
