[samples/affiliate] Mostly, we buy with our eyes before we even get our credit cards out – a brand’s choice of packaging is so important. Brands calibrate how much seasonal packaging to produce based on past and projected sales because none of them want left over Christmas things that can’t be re-purposed. This year I think will be the toughest ever for the beauty industry – we’re in a period of change as it is but I’ve also noticed a less wanty vibe going on – I certainly have it – with a dropped desire to accumulate yet more stuff. Since we all have more than enough beauty products, I think we will see a marked effect. But hey, what do I know :-).
It feels as though L’Occitane has read the mood by offering packaging that’s inspired by nature in the most vibrant colours for all our favourites. Taking these pictures made me smile – and to be honest, if a consumer looks at a product and it makes them feel happy, that’s the one they’ll buy.
There are some new lip colours in the Intense Fruity Lipstick line up which I find balmy and pleasant to use although they don’t have quite enough shine for me. I have Ravie En Rouge here which is a generous, fiery red.
As you can see, the finish is matte. It’s £18.
I love the little sachet of Honey Harvest Bath Pearls – perfect for stocking fillers at £4 a pack. The blue hand cream in the first picture by the way is the Classic Shea in either 150ml £21.50 or 30ml £8. The illustrations are by Hspinping Pan from Taiwan who is an award winning illustrator and animator.
Speaking of Honey Harvest, there’s a shea butter body cream at £22 (and also a cloud shaped solid soap which I don’t have but love and will get!). The Honey Harvest limited editions use lavender honey giving the products a kind of golden colour. So this is just a tiny taster of Christmas from L’Occitane – I have got some baubles which I always think make great emergency gifts and teacher presents but I’ll get to those in a later post. It’s worth pointing out that L’Occitane has joined with TerraCycle so that everything can be recycled at your nearest L’Occitane store. Head HERE. I know that L’Occitane has a special 20% off day so hang on til Black Friday (which is when I think it is).
