Well, these are all the pleasure on an August-that-feels-like-October day. Crabtree & Evelyn has vamped up its existing ranges and dropped some new fragrance combinations that are absolutely lovely. I think it might be goodbye at last to Nantucket Briar! Lavender and Espresso is a combination that I haven’t come across before – it turns out to be a gorgeous blend of sweet lavender notes and just a gentle woody backdrop rather than a zingy coffee scent. I like coffee (too much) but I don’t think it is something I’d want to smell of particularly! As you can see on the labelling, the notes are relaxing and calming. You get an initial hit which is lovely, but it does disappear quite quickly, particularly with the Hand Therapy Hand Cream. If you haven’t tried Hand Therapy, it’s a very good hand cream formula – instantly softening and not in the least sticky.
Rose and Pink Peppercorn has more body to it – you do get a lovely blast of sweet rose which is never a bad thing but the secondary notes of pink peppercorn were a bit lost on me. Nonetheless, I’d take this fragrance any which way – body wash, hand cream, soap or hand wash because its such a happy, buoyant scent.
Everything, including the Hand Therapy variants, looks more modern and sleek. Pomegranate & Argan (note, they’ve dropped the Grapeseed) is my favourite – this is so tangy-fruity and bursting with fragrance, particularly in the body wash and hand wash. I can’t remember how Goatmilk was before so I can’t tell whether it’s also had a tweak – but it smells flowery-milky which isn’t unpleasant but it won’t blow your mind either.
It’s high time that Crabree dropped it’s chocolate box, flowery image and stepped up their game packaging wise. I forget about this brand but now it’s back in the forefront because it looks a lot more tempting. The brand doesn’t seem to have hiked its prices to pay for this redesign either – body washes are the same price at £16 and paper wrapped soaps are still £7.50. Everything is launching this month, so if it’s still raining and you need a cheering up treat, look out for these!
