[productsample] Yes, yes it is…. an Advent Calendar. But Paul & Joe call it a Make Up Collection so I have too. I always have qualms about posting things like this too early but I followed a thread on Twitter the other day where everyone was saying that they like to have earlier information so they can plan, either financially, or to be organised. Plus, I’m bursting to share it because it’s so lovely.

Paul & Joe Make Up Collection 2019

As you can see, there’s a cat theme afoot which is a continuing obsession for this brand featuring depictions of Nounette and Gypsy who belong to Sophie, the brand founder, but there are one or two dogs for a change as well and a surprise appearance from a swan!

I’m not showing absolutely everything – I’ll leave a couple of surprises. Above, you can see a shimmery lip gloss, a lip treatment balm (bees!) and a nail oil.

Of course the cat lipstick makes an appearance – two actually. The red shade is a limited edition, while the white shade is a pearly topper for either bare lips or to add a frost over any other colour.

You’ll find skin care in the calendar too, with a foundation primer, a face oil and a shimmering primer amongst many others. This is also a value collection with £150 worth of product for £60 (it’s launching in November so I’ll try to give a head’s up) which I think is better value and more generous than previous offerings. This year’s advent from Paul & Joe is better planned than previous years because it does actually add up to a properly useful skin care and make up collection – with a couple of beautiful satin bags to keep everything in. I would far rather have something that’s a little bit different and shines amongst the glut of beauty advents this year than something too serious or drawers full of toner. I was going to give this to my niece but I’m not sure I can bear to part with it!
