The objective of every MAC Viva Glam is to sell out, so shades are carefully selected, and so is the celebrity endorser. I’m guessing Miley Cyrus 1 must have been a record breaker because she’s back as the spokesperson for Viva Glam for a second time. The Viva Glam campaign has raised millions and millions for women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/Aids and the full RRP (less VAT) goes straight to that cause. It’s absolutely a win-win – no woolly percentages of profit (that we see so much of around Breast Cancer Awareness month when you’re never quite sure who gets what and how much the charities eventually see) – you get a gorgeous lipstick or gloss from a covetable brand and research and help funds for HIV/Aids are boosted. I’m always rather curious as to whether the celebrity in question gets paid (this happens all the time… one of the most famous faces concerned with BCA month is reported to take payment) and if so, how appropriate that actually is.
I’ve shot these in full sunlight so you can get a handle on how bright the MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 Bright Orange matte lipstick really is! The MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 Lipglass is gentler – it’s still bright orange with a pearl sparkle to it but goes on quite sheer.
See what I mean! The lipstick is so pigment saturated in a gorgeous red-orange shade that it’s really a statement maker! Do you dare? I think I’ll play safe and go for the Lipglass! So, prices are £14.50 for the Lipglass and £15.50 for the Lipstick.
The collection hits in September at ALL MAC locations, including the MAC website.
