[unpaid/samples] These are definitely a day brightener! I’m compiling a BBN because so much has happened so while I crack on with that for hopefully a bit later this morning, I’m just popping up the new bags from Beauty Banks at Superdrug aiming to raise over £50K for the charity to continue providing hygiene products to those struggling, for a multitude of reasons, to provide for themselves.

Beauty Banks x Superdrug Cosmetic Bags

Beauty Banks has enlisted internet superstars, Gary Thompson (aka Plastic Boy – and a thoroughly lovely person), make up artist, Cher Webb and Nic & Sam to create designs that are vibrant and fun – and of course, Sali Hughes, co-founder of Beauty Banks has designed an equally lovely one, too. So, there are four to choose from.

The bags are made from recycled materials and they’re £4.99 each. Actually, Lucy, who rarely has her eye caught by beauty products, immediately swooped on them so we are tussling over this one from Cher.

This is Nic & Sam’s bag – actually, it’s hard to choose between them because they’re tapping so perfectly into the need to see colour at the moment. Needless to say, all the content creators gave their time and designs for free and a mention of course for the brand design agency, Design Bridge, who brought them to life for no fee.

Never a truer word! It’s taken me a long time to get into the right frame of mind for red but here I am wearing red as I tap. A good time as well for a shout-out to Superdrug – I randomly ended up following Superdrug Region 6 on Instagram and what a great team – they’re always fundraising, even through these tricky times and are so motivated and upbeat and they’ve made me think better of Superdrug when I haven’t always. It’s been an insight into the real people at individual stores and a lesson that polished PR isn’t always the best method of communication (not that I ever have any, but you get the point). I don’t even know where Region 6 is but they’ve been a high point of my lockdown viewing. So, please do, if you like the look of the bags and need something to store your skin care and make-up in head this way HERE. Beauty Banks are providing an essential service – being clean is a basic right – and they’ve been key to highlighting (and reducing) hygiene poverty over their four years of existence.
