Avene Eau Thermale Spray

I know I’ve consistently posted about this product but it’s coming into its own at the moment – I keep 3 cans in my fridge. The picture above is how the birds are keeping cool in our garden – they sit atop the water feature morning, noon and night, drinking, washing and basically having a pool party. They all gather in the bushes surrounding the water feature and then take turns to splash around – it’s really sweet. That horrible netting by the way is a cat deterrent which, ugly as it is, ensures that the birds are safe.

Avene Eau Thermale Spray

Everyone in the house is using this – especially Lucy & Max when they get in from work and a sticky commute – they spritz before they drink water. My 82 year old dad was here yesterday and I was spritzing him, and if I have any visitors, they get a spritz too – even Honey, my dog, has had a cool-down spray! Possibly, it is an expensive way to cool off when in theory you could just buy a sprayer and fill it with tap. The difference there is that you won’t get the misting (more of a squirt) and, unlike Avene spray, it’s just wet rather than soothing – there is something very, very soft about Avene thermal water that is different to London tap in every conceivable way. Keep it in the fridge for extra cooling and consider it for hot babies and hot elders.  Escentual has this at 25% off HERE so the 300ml is £9.75 instead of £13 if you want to be more bird 😉

Dear Jane, what an utterly charming, beautifully written article! From the lovely picture to the description of your family spritzing Avène, this reminded me why I enjoy your blog as much as I do.
    Stay cool!

Great minds think alike, I just bought a new can of this today. Love it, along with the Avene redness relief emulsion that I am really enjoying using in this heat as it’s so light and refreshing.
