[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve been waiting for my (mild) eye infection to clear to really get stuck into these metallic liners. They can be used on inner rims although they’re not described exactly as kohls, and of course, above and below the lashlines. One shade, Metallic Khaki, was the one I was most excited to try as I feel it’s missing in the market but I ended up having a different favourite the one I assumed I would like best.
The shades I have are Metallic Marine Blue, Metallic Khaki, Metallic Ruby and Metallic Cocoa.
As you can see, they’re properly metallic. However, they obviously look a bit different on the water line and in combination with your eye colour. They’re very pleasantly soft, although I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they’re Victoria Beckham soft, and they lay colour down beautifully both on and off the water line. I found the stay to be good – I got up close to my eyes in the mirror as I was taking each colour off and it was more difficult than I thought because they’re what I would describe as film forming, so there is some good adherence to what is a damp environment. Over the lash line, application is really glidey – no drag whatsoever – and colour stay is exceptional.
This is Metallic Ruby which turned out to be my favourite. Burgundy/red eye liners for the water line can be somewhat hit and miss – no fun looking like your eyes are bleeding. This shade manages to avoid that by taking the red right down and mixing it with a bit of gold and brown. I love it – it’s just far more interesting than any of the other shades I’ve got. I’m wearing Metallic Khaki above and below the lash lines.
This is Metallic Marine Blue – I like the vibrancy it adds to my eyes. If you have blue eyes or are fair complexioned with paler lashes this is going absolutely pop on you. I’ll definitely wear it again but might drop the Metallic Khaki around my eyes and double it up with Marine instead.
This is the same photo I used yesterday to show the Camo CC and I’m wearing Metallic Khaki. I’d prefer it (for me) to be a bit deeper in colour rather than the somewhat golden sage it actually is. They’re £16 each HERE. I didn’t test the Metallic Cocoa because my eyes had had enough this time around.
