YSL Rouge Pur Couture Collector Red Is My Saviour Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s coming up to that time of year again, when my inbox is full of the most tenuous links to Valentine’s Day. However, it does feel like the right day for a brand new lipstick, either as a gift to self in the most dreary month of the year, a gift to a friend for exactly that same reason or because you’re doing something special with your beloved.

YSL’s collector edition of Rouge Pur Couture in Red Is My Saviour is a satin formula with a beautiful sheen – the colour is just lovely with some pink and orange undertones (to my eye). As soon as I put it on, it brought some life to my face.

In terms of last, gosh, yes it lasts but really it will depend upon what you’re doing – eat anything oily wearing any lipstick and you can kiss it goodbye in double quick time – or, speaking of, kissing is going to wear it away although I did not surprise Mr BBB by putting that particular event to the test. I think we can safely say that your beloved will also end up wearing it and I’ve yet to meet the lipstick that is truly ‘kissproof’.

I almost forgot to mention that the lid has two red snakes entwined to create a heart. The good news is (there is no bad news) that Escentual.com has 25% off taking the price from £31 to £23.25 HERE. Better still, Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Lip Colour has had a big price drop in most colours – the one I’m looking at, Corail Dolmain, is currently £11.66 instead of £35. Whatever birthdays you have coming up to buy for, snap them up HERE! I just don’t see these ever being this price again.

Not that I medically need another red lipstick but after “accidentally” clicking on the Escentual shine in oil link, I then “accidentally” bought one at £9.99 as really it would be rude not to if they are offering £25 off and it’s not the same sort of red as any of my others. Really looking forward to trying it as it sounds just what my lips need this winter as most of reds are matte. Thank you for pointing me that way x
