XO Khloe by Khloe Kardashian Fragrance Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This fragrance isn’t one I’d have picked from a shelf for myself but its one that has caused a ripple over social media and undoubtedly will sell in the millions. As the name suggests, this fragrance is by Khloe Kardashian and is created by noses Clement Gavarry and Alberto Morillas. The latter has created Acqua di Gio (Giorgio Armani), Calvin Klein CK1 and Cartier Panthere (one of my all time least favourite fragrances). The former is responsible for Prada Amber, Cloud by Ariana Grande and Tom Ford Black Violet – to name but a few in both instances.

If you have an understanding of the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic, which boomed across socials in around 2022, you’ll immediately see how XO Khloe fits with the trend that emphasises simplicity, elegance and a healthy lifestyle. Taking a look at a selection of the notes – rose petals, sage blossom, lavender, orange blossom water, peach and moss – it probably sounds far more complex than it actually is.  The woody down-notes are gentle – in fact, I’d say the whole juice is gentle – but they’re soothing and smooth. The first impression is fresh and rose petal-ish with a dry down of er, fresh and rose petal-ish. Eventually, you will get a little bit of the sage and moss but it all stays airy and light. Even the bottle is ‘clean’ with no branding, just a simple X shape from the way the glass is cut.

I can’t find any praline (thank you!) or peach but it doesn’t seem to matter because the overall impression is a sort of nestling, clean skin like aspect and I don’t hate it at all. Without wanting to imply that the younger you are the less able you are to appreciate a fine fragrance, but I’d suggest that XO Chloe would work as a first fragrance because you can’t really over-spray this – it’s simplicity and lack of pretention is where to start for future taste making. I’m just guessing but I would bet every single secondary school would smell of this were it not for the fact that it’s £75 from Harrods HERE 🙂
