Vichy Normaderm Night Detox

Regular BBB readers will know that I find it hard to muster excitement over skin care sometimes, but I have to say that Vichy Normaderm Night Detox is the most interesting launch of the year in terms of skin care. Aimed at adult spots and oily skin issues, Vichy Normaderm Night Detox is a night treatment to reduce both problems.

One of the stats that I’ve been given is pretty amazing (tested on 56 subjects aged 18 to 38), claiming that 99% found their skin was less oily during the next day. I always think the proof of a product is in the testing so I won’t go into the other stats, but that particular one stood out as very impressive. You won’t see results on actual blemishes for 4 weeks XXX

The Vichy theory is that sebum production is at its most intense at night (a handy finding, given the product, *cough*) but interestingly, it takes about 12 hours for the sebum that has been produced at night to find its way onto your skin during the day. Therefore, targeting overnight production to give a result the following day makes perfect sense. Key players, ingredient wise, are Salicylic Acid, LHA (anti-bacterial), Eperuline (Amazonian tree branch extract that’s both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant), a from of Urea (exfoliating) and Perlite (oil absorption).

I am so looking forward to reviews of this product – I don’t have oily skin or adult blemishes (thankfully) so I can’t put it to the test myself, but if the claims really do live up to their promises, I think Vichy has made an exceptional breakthrough. Exciting times for adults who thought they’d left their teen skin problems behind. It’s £15.50 (on a 3-for-2 currently) HERE.

As someone with very oily skin, I’d love to know whether the people they tested this on also had very oily skin. The theory does make sense, but I wonder how much more effective it will be than my regular salicyclic gel… Very intrigued to try it.

Hi BBB! I have oily and acne prone skin and I’ve been using this for more than 2 months so I believe I can be at your service on this subject. Before this, I was using the old version (Vichy normaderm nuit-night-). I must say this one is better than this, that’s for sure!! This one never broke me out (always a pro for me), unfortunately on the nights when I had breakouts, it never helped reducing the zit, or the itch or anything. So it was pretty useless on acne (sorry!). Normaderm is a series not for only oily skin but also for acne prone skin, so don’t expect a miracle (but also effaclar duo and duo + are useless on my acne too, so do the math for yourself). For oiliness, it is somehow good on the following day but not a miracle products (again, sorry..)
