[unpaid/sample] Time for some homegrown skin care! Vibrant Skin is founded by sisters Sarah & Kelly Owen, who wanted find formulas that made a difference to Sarah’s skin which had been affected by medication. It’s a big deal to take your home experiments all the way through to official product development but when you’re searching and searching for ingredients that make a difference, those hours fiddling about at the table are the ones that make the difference.
I’ve only surfaced tested the three serums but the one that stood out the most to me is the Energising Vitamin Serum which claims to have a scar healing element as well as skin brightening favourite, Vitamin C. When it comes to formulas, it’s what you blend with what that makes the difference – vitamins A and E both have form when it comes to healing and softening … if you are prone to break outs this could be an excellent go-to to combat any redness that’s not in a hurry to leave. In fact, given that the third ingredient is witch hazel which is in itself is helpful for spots. It’s not for you if you don’t get along with orange essential oil, because that also forms part of the product along with sweet fennel seed and aloe vera.
The Hydra B5 Serum is for you if you need skin smoothing and softening along with hydration – mild enzymes will keep cells turning over so would count as a light ‘glow’ serum. Time Repair is indicated for older skin that needs extra hydration – avocado, jojoba, evening primrose and argan will provide it and it’s perfect for anyone who wants a punchy hydration hit without a weighty cream. The weight makes it good for necks, too – I don’t like a heavy cream on my neck personally so I always check how a face cream feels there (I’m not convinced anyone needs a separate neck cream by the way). Prices start at £40 for 50ml HERE.
