Urban Decay Pulp Fiction

The Urban Decay Pulp Fiction collection is one of the coolest film tie-ins that I’ve seen. It’s a totally wearable and strong look that comes with a Get The Look card with clear instructions on the best ways to wear it. The palette contains three brand new shadow shades and two already in the collection, and the red double ended brush is a small touch that’s quite impactful I think on the general vibe. If you haven’t guessed already, the palette is to recreate character Mia Wallace’s make up – I notice that so far, nowhere mentions Uma Thurman (who played Mia Wallace); it’s all about character vs reality.

Uma Thurman famously wore a Chanel nail shade, Vamp (Rouge Noir in the UK/Europe) in Pulp Fiction – intially, Vamp was a deep wine red. It disappeared and came back in another guise – still dark, blood-wine but with a shiver of shimmer through it. Urban Decay’s version is nearer the revamped Vamp.

Obviously, there are going to be red lips involved in this collection!

A deep blood red in the creamy Revolution formula. The last item (there is a lip liner.. but, meh) is…

.. a Heavy Metal Liner in shade Gun Metal – it looks phenomenal, so I’m really looking forward to having samples to swatch.

I really do like this collection – it’s quite modest in size and very accurate to the look with some modern updates. I think we should see Urban Decay Pulp Fiction in September time.

  5. Saw this on a US trip. I had a huge wave of nostalgia and had to force myself away from the shelf. Such great memories attached to the time when the movie was released!

I had a bottle of Rouge Noir when it first came out. Six bottles were available in Jenners in Edinburgh & I managed to get number 5. These days I could have made a killing on Ebay! Incidentally, Rouge Noir and Vamp were the same shade; Vamp was the U.S name.

oh Sophie.. you are right! I’m going to update that.. I had totally forgotten – thank you for the reminder and well done on your Rouge Noir Coup. It was one of the first ‘must haves’ I think.

Thanks Jane. I love your blog. I’m hoping that you’ll do a review on the upcoming MAC Brooke Shields palette.
