[unpaid/sample] Fruity scented masks always seem more appropriate in summer – this one smells like a pineapple sorbet so it’s rather delicious to use. Tolpa is a Polish brand that has just landed at Lloyds Pharmacy and it’s proving to be very good value for money.
Ideally, this particular mask is best for oilier skin types, and I should point out that ‘scrub’ doesn’t really describe it as it’s entirely enzymatic (papain, bromelian and kertolin) so there are no particles. You leave it on for 10 minutes and hey presto, a brightened complexion. It really does work although 10 minutes was too long for me because it started to feel a bit too active at around 6 minutes. There was no residual dryness at all on my skin but it was slightly reddened for about five minutes after which all was well and my complexion just looked nicely brighter.
I could make a comparison to Huda Beauty Yo Glow in terms of results although the ingredient line up is a bit different – as I might add, is the price. As the No.1 acne brand in Poland, Tolpa has already made its mark in Europe so I think it’s a good call from Lloyds to have this offering. It is a peat based brand – using sustainable peat of course – and has an extensive offering across all skin types, including men. This mask is £6.66 HERE and its well worth exploring the range if this product isn’t quite right for you because so far, I’m impressed. My only slight gripe is the blackhead reduction claim – it might well do but I think that’s out of context because it takes more than an enzyme mask to make inroads into that problem.
