Timothy Dunn Candles

Oh wow.. I’m really blown away by Timothy Dunn candles. At the moment I have Grecian Lime burning in the background and it is the freshest, most enlivening fragrance – absolutely perfect for a hot and muggy day to bring some energy back to the soul.

I like Timothy’s story too.. he is a very well known florist and started his candle range on a bespoke basis fifteen years ago. He is self-funded so no tricky backers or investors to force a ‘crowd-pleaser’ fragrance; he just creates what he loves. All the candles are manufactured and packaged in the UK (yes, I’d like to work in that establishment!) and the packaging comes with a liquid platinum logo that has to be baked on for the perfect finish. It’s not easy but it is a beautiful attention to detail. I’m reliably informed that Timothy Dunn candles are currently being used in the Royal Box at Wimbledon – game on, my friend!

If anyone remembers the old Jo Malone Lime & Grapefruit candle, Grecian Lime is as close to a perfect match as you’ll ever get, although I think in many ways Grecian Lime is better – more powerful and cleaner. Personally, I’m not a fan of Lime, Basil & Mandarin because it reminds me of pesto, so Grecian Lime is a way of getting that limey hit with no pasta references!

The other candle I love is Millefleur; the first from Timothy Dunn and a truly mesmerising floral with just about every fragrant flower scent thrown in. Tuberose, ylang ylang, orchid, frangipani, jasmine, lotus flower – I could go on – and on! So, while the arrangement is complex, the fragrance effect is actually quite simple; a stunning flower-burst that has you sighing with bliss.

The candles are £42 with a 60 hour burn time. Worth every last penny. Find them HERE (although the site is a bit confusing .. you have to click on the row of candles which then throws up more info and an option to order).

Ive had the luxury of being gifted these during the development and have to say I cant use anything else! I adore the Mille fluers, Samarkand and Grecian Lime. When mine run out I cant be bothered to use anything else, does not have the same intensity.

  2. Ah yes, these are some of the best candles I’ve found (ever) and Grecian Lime sounds delicious, have yet to try it.

Mille Fleurs really is “one thousand flowers”…

Mine is still burning and as it burns down, it glows a magical white because of the colour of the glass holder.
