Sweed Glass Skin Foundation Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Looking for a new foundation? Almost across the board, I like Sweed – I regularly use their Cloud Mascara and the Aircream Blush in Cheeky. It’s the blush I use when I can’t really be bothered to think further than looking awake and it gives such a natural looking bloom to the cheeks in a feather light texture that you really can’t even feel on the skin.

I was unsure what my exact match would be so between us, the PR, Linda, and I picked out 04 (Light C is for a light skin with cool undertones) and 03 (Light W is for a fair to light skin with warm undertones) with the view to do a bit of mixing but I ended up using 03 which was fine for demo purposes. I think, however, I might have been better with 05 which is light for neutral tones. There are 15 shades in all.

Bottom is 03, top is 04.

It’s a very silky blend on the skin – the bottle shade, by the way, bears no relation to the shade inside and that neutral colour bottle feels like a strange choice because I think consumers will consider it to be the shade of the foundation inside. I spent too much time looking at my bottles side by side trying to decide if they were different shades!

The other thing to know is that it’s quite heavily pigmented so you really don’t need very much. If you get the right shade and use a light touch, you can get the second skin look, but personally, I think I’d mix with a moisturiser for a sheerer finish. As for glass skin – well, that’s a trend term that doesn’t have any meaning in day to day life – yes, all over Instagram and TikTok but there’s no reality in which your complexion is so reflective that it looks like glass. The formula is a mix of skin care and make up – seaweed extracts moisturise – and it feels truly flexible and lightweight. I can say that it blends beautifully.

Sweed Glass Skin Foundation is quite pricy at £38 HERE but if you like a decent coverage – the blush is £28 HERE, and Cloud Mascara is £24 HERE.

I’m really interested in trying this. I’ve only ever read good things about this foundation and it looks great on you. Would you say it has more coverage than the Lisa Eldridge skin tint? X

      Yes, I would say so.
