Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Stick SPF30 Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I can’t be the only one that wondered whether Supergoop! has anything to do with Gwyneth’s Goop and a quick Google confirmed that no, I’m not! In fact, the brand makes a point of letting us know they are not related in any way. And that’s 100% fine with me because it gives me a chance to tell you that the origins of this brand began when founder, Holly Thaggard, began by getting SPF pumps into schools so the option for sun protection is always there. This is, I am sure, my first experience of Supergoop! and so far, so very good.

We can start off with product-of-the-moment, the Unseen Sunscreen Stick SPF30. As you know, I’m seeing a lot of sun sticks at the moment and I’m all for the portability of it and the chance to do a quick slick when the sun is high. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I managed to burn my face (cheeks) a couple of weeks ago just sitting chatting to a friend in the garden so I’m even more hot on having SPF about your person at all times. The texture of the Unseen Sunscreen Stick is quite different to others that I’ve tried. It’s very light feeling and silky making it super easy to apply to face, hands or wherever you want really. But, there’s no rush because while it has launched in the US, it hasn’t quite launched here yet.

The thing I am going to rave about is the Supergoop! SPF30 Lipstick in Love You More. I couldn’t love it more! It’s a juicy, fully saturated shade of red that is all of the summer things and is perfect for the ‘nothing but a slick of..’ look (that takes self tan and mascara to work really well – ironically).

Here it is in action. I’ve got Supergoop! Play SPF30 (coming up) on with a splash of Chanel Water Tint, Twelve Bronzer and Lisa Eldridge mascara in brown. I don’t think anything else is needed. If you have a warm tone already, you can omit the water tint and just use whatever sunscreen you normally use. I feel like the lipstick is a bit of a snip at £22 HERE.

While Play isn’t as light as some of the Korean textures, it’s very comfortable on the face after a few moments. I didn’t like it to start with but then forgot it was there so it’s as good as anything with that in mind. I feel like I want to recommend this for sports – it’s got a bit of ‘grip’ to it that I imagine means it won’t sweat off very easily. Oh, in fact, as I look at the label (eye-rolling myself), I see that it’s water resistant so if you’re planning a morning or evening run, this should be absolutely great for that. 30ml is £15 HERE and it is available in SPF50 for £22 HERE. I quite like that it comes in both 30 and 50. The SPF police will insist on SPF50 but it’s your choice and if 30 suits you and does the job, that’s ok.
