The strongest trend emerging for 2009 spring/summer is ‘super-glowing’ skin – as if we don’t all try hard enough for just the basic glow. However, this look on the catwalk is extreme – glossy and wet looking almost – and it’s not realistically workable on the daily commute! I’ve been experimenting with combining Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, and they work together beautifully to give a luminous base that’s actually wearable and that lasts the day. Without the weight of a full-blown foundation but more than just a sheer tint, it also means any concealer on spots or under the eyes doesn’t look paler than the rest of the face or too obvious as with some tinted moisturisers. It’s a great combination and well worth trying – if you do, two thirds Laura to one third Becca seems to get the best result for coverage and luminosity.
The Super-Glow: An impossible ask?
