Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer

So, Stila’s latest offering is Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer with the concealer built into the foundation bottle lid. The foundation also comes with a brush if you prefer a brush application for your base. Its a very handy thing to have your concealer built in to your foundation; you never lose it, for one and for two it cuts down room in your make-up bag although I will say, it is one big old lid on this foundation. The inclusion of a mirror in the concealer lid is brilliant.

Better yet, this is an oil-free formula, so anyone with oily skin should be fine to use it, and the formula contains botanical extracts to give a little anti-ageing boost. There is also a silicone elastomer which makes for a very smooth application and appearance. That is both good and bad – I know lots of you don’t like silicones, but I do and they don’t upset my skin so I am lucky with that. Stila stay All Day Foundation and Concealer comes in 16 shades, including very dark for black skin.

But, on the down-side, it is £29.50 which I think is very expensive for a Stila product; I’d personally rather buy into Dior or YSL at that price and it has got one ugly applicator spoon-thing that comes out of the pot product drenched. I get it that it lets you scrape the last bit from the bottle, but really could do with a re-design. As I mentioned, the lid is very long, but the concealer is a very, very tiny amount in relation to the foundation accounting for a tiny fraction of the lid. There is also no SPF (fantastic! claims the make-up artist) which is just odd.

I’m not actually sure when it launches but will update this post when I find out.

  1. Really like the look of this, especially as it’s oil free.

Its $44 dollars because you are getting three products. A foundation, a brush, and concealer, and bonus mirror. The price is excellent. The product is good quality, and it has alot of skincare benefits in there as well. Its not just a ‘foundation’.

And the reason make up artists love no SPF is because that means it will photograph well. SPF gives the face a ghostly mask in pictures. Nobody wants that. But its easy to incorporate SPF to just about anything, if thats something people wanted.

Meh. stila is just trying to amp up their rep; they’re about to get dropped like a hot potato from Lynn Tilton… petrochemical laden, company sells OLD stock off website for classic staples.
I love the idea. hopefully a better brand will jump on this concept 😉
