Steamcream Love For Japan

You can’t help loving this very worthy beauty launch. Steamcream’s Love For Japan tin, £12.95, with 100% of the funds* raised from its sale going to support the people of Japan. Because the earthquake and tsunami in Japan was so catastrophic, people are still suffering the devastating effects. The disaster killed more than 20,000 people and left many, many children orphaned. The tin launches in March and will become a permanent part of the Steamcream tin line-up which hopefully means support will be on-going.

*Excludes VAT.

  1. This is so wonderful. I love Steam Cream so will definitely be getting this.

  2. Oh wow, deja vu. I got Steamcream in my February Carmine box and absolutely love it. I understand the tons are a Japamese design, so this fund raiser is very appropriate.

  3. What a great cause for Steam Cream to support… I’ll certainly be picking one up

  4. Japan has done a wonderful job at getting back to normal. Every bit counts!

what a shame that the money for this good cause is being used for other things than what it was intended for 🙁

Japan Fisheries Agency officials admitted that about ¥2.28 billion (US$29 million) would be taken from a ¥500 billion (US$6.4 billion) portion of disaster funds earmarked for fisheries-related spending, approved by Japan’s parliament last month.

These monies apparently went to equip the Shonan Maru 2 with unspecified security equipment designed to win the battle against the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s Ady Gil. This even though 95 percent of Japanese admit to rarely or never eating whale meat and presumably don’t give a damn whether whaling continues.
