Sonsie Skin Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve been truly looking forward to reviewing Sonsie which most of you will know as the brand co-founded by Pamela Anderson is a complete image about turn. I think that Pamela could not look more beautiful, elegant and graceful in the promo pictures and she’s given some meaningful and thoughtful quotes on the subject of beauty – none more compelling than, ‘beauty isn’t something to chase, it’s something to come home to’. I love this – it’s so much about self-acceptance and self-worth, both of which can be hard to hold onto especially as you get older. Pamela is currently the primary investor in Sonsie but the brand itself was founded by German influencer, Marie von Behrens-Felipe and her husband, Roberto A. Felipe.

Sonsie is simplicity personified – valid and reputationally solid ingredients coupled with un-hectic packaging that feels soothing on sight – I would give this house-room any day of the week. I have Basic Balm, Multi Moisture Cream, Cleansing Mousse and Super Serum. Of them all, Multi Moisture Cream is the product that really sings for me. It’s a gorgeously light feeling texture featuring glycerine, hyaluronic acid, Abyssinian seed oil, squalane and olive oil which will put a hydration zing in your dry skin. You can use it morning or night (or both)  and you’ll probably want to because Multi has this more-ish quality to it that only a few creams ever have. You can also use Multi Moisture Cream as an intensive mask if you want to – wonderfully soothing on hot, sun tapped skin.

I wasn’t smitten with the Cleansing Mousse – it’s okay but it didn’t light any fires in me or my skin – but I feel there must be more cleansing options on the way. At the moment, Sonsie is a 4 product brand, but I am sure it won’t stay that way. The Basic Balm is exactly that – a decent, basic balm that actually stays on the lips for a proper amount of time before you need to reply and is super softening. I’d recommend this as an overnight lip balm for dry lips – I swear there won’t be a single flake by morning.

As the angel investor in Sonsie, Pamela Anderson has struck exactly the right visual note to be the face of the brand for now. It’s careful, mindful, easy to love and confident in its deserved place on our beauty shelves. No drama, no over hype – I’m tempted to say that it’s the brand for anyone who feels utterly bored and/or overwhelmed trying to follow the chaos of multiple beauty narratives. Just be you – it’s easier :-).

You can find Sonsie HERE with prices starting at £22 for the Basic Balm.
