At the moment, I’m surrounded by people coughing and spluttering; on the train, on the bus, in the shops and in my house! At the risk of tempting fate, I haven’t succumbed – yet! But, I always think that if your energy is low and you are a little run down, you’re more at risk of catching something. Obviously, nobody likes to be poorly, but I guess like any working mum, the consequences of being ill or worn out are wide-reaching.
I absolutely hate it when my energy is low. That’s kind of like having a cold without the actual cold… just feeling generally wiped out and grotty and every hill feels like a mountain… and of course, none of the sympathy you might elicit if you had the blooming cold!
Ironically, for someone so averse to low energy, I’m not a supplement fiend, mainly because I just don’t know what I should be taking. I knock back some zinc occasionally, take Imedeen for my skin and a Vitamin D supplement when I remember, but it’s been on my mind for quite a long time that I’d like to have something more long-term that is good for overall well-being.
I’m drawn to Seven Seas Perfect 7 for its vitamins and minerals that help to reduce tiredness (yes, please!) and fatigue, but also for the omega-3 fuelled marine oils to help maintain normal heart and brain function. To break things down a bit, the Perfect7 capsules contain zinc, which is indicated for skin and nails, biotin for healthy hair, magnesium for energy, DHA for normal brain function, B2 to help maintain normal vision, EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart and B6 regulates hormonal activity. I’m in the right place for a bit of all of these!
Imagine if you had to adjust your diet to include all that lot – I just wouldn’t be able to do it, or do it in an educated way, so swallowing down a capsule of Seven Seas Perfect 7 Vitmans seems to be a very undemanding way around it.
If I’m honest, I don’t look after my health properly (although I am that person with enough anti-bac hand gel on the train to keep the NHS germ free) – I keep thinking, it can all wait til I’m less busy, and so far all that adrenaline keeps lurgies at bay, but I’m aware that raised cortisol levels in the long term are a health enemy and I need to be more mindful. Just trialling the SevenSeas Perfect7 has given me pause for thought.
I’m also interested in the nail health aspect – I feel like I’m covered for skin already, but any regular readers will know my nails were in emergency measures over the summer. I’d be thrilled if they were stronger as a result of the capsules.
There’s also a men’s version that’s calibrated differently to address the different needs between men and women. I might get Mr BBB going on it – I know. He’s a lucky man, as I continually remind him ;-).
