I find this collection from Revlon for Autumn Winter 2013 a bit strange. It’s called Evening Opulence, and other than the lip shade, I’m not finding it all that opulent. I don’t have many pieces here.. maybe that’s why – literally only what you see above, which out of context I think may be diluting the effect. There is a purple eye quad which is a bit eighties and a couple of other lip shades, plus two polishes. So, I’ll go through what I have.
The stand out for me in terms of being a little bit edgy is the Kajal Intense Eye Liner in Emerald Empire (£5.99) and Brightener – I love this and I have worn it already. The green is intense and deep while the nude shade does that ‘thing’ to inner rims that is very catwalk. I am not sure if it brightens the eyes, because I am so used to seeing black on the water line but it does give eyes a kind of naked look which I like when used with a strong lip.
The two lip shades are first the green tinged Colorburst Butter Balm (£7.99) in Invite Only which actually doesn’t really translate to anything but a light shimmer on the lip and then Embellished in the ColorBurst Lipgloss (£7.99). It’s a translucent wine shade infused with some pink shimmer to lift it up a bit.
I don’t know.. I’m a bit disappointed with this collection. But if you like it, it’s out in September.
