I’ve already tried the only UK gold crackle from Boots 17 and also one that a very kind blog friend sent me from Germany from a brand called P2 (she also sent me some really amazing yellow and orange shades about which I’ll post another time) but neither of them really were what I was after. They’re just too muted and dull – I wanted a really blingy gold to put over hot oranges and reds to look sizzling in the summer.
On my way to Cosmoprof in Italy, I happened to be seated on the plane next to a lovely lady called Thea who turned out to be the MD of Nails Inc, so like a stuck record I moaned on and on about how nobody was making a decent gold crackle. She said, ‘I’ll make you one.’ AND, she has! I got it in the post yesterday and it is exactly what I was looking for. The polish formula is thin enough to give a really sheer crackle effect but has enough shimmering pigment to make it really stand out.
Am even more delighted that Nails Inc have decided to make it available to buy in about 4 weeks time. Its working name at the moment is Farringdon.
It’s shown in the pictures over By Terry Terrybly Nail Laque Eccentric Vermillion at Space NK which is all kinds of gorgeous. Expensive at £20 a bottle, but it genuinely has a luxury feel – the formula is super smooth and has the most impressive gloss finish I think I’ve ever seen on a polish.
