I have a couple of the forthcoming Paul & Joe Ice Cream Parlour Summer 2014 products to swatch, and visually, this is such a beautiful collection. However, if you don’t like flavoured glosses, look away now because as the name suggests, this is for sweet-toothed beauty lovers!
Paul & Joe Ice Cream Parlour Summer 2014 is all about sweet lips and cheeks – the candy-stripe swirls are more for the look than the application though – when I tested the Chocolate Mint Cheek Gelatto Triple Cheek Swirl, it goes rather murky afterwards so and doesn’t, obviously, retain the clean swirl.
You have to go a long way into the tube of Strawberry Syrup before you get to the white swirl – all it does is give the pink more of a milky hue but actually, it’s quite a nice little surprise once you get there. The shade reminds me a lot of Stila in that it’s a milky pink; and it smells like Fruitellas!
Chocolate Mint Cheek Gelatto Triple Cheek Swirl gives a light bronze look for cheeks – it’s going to suit paler skin tones really well, although it came up a little on the light side for me.
It’s not the best swatch, but the shade again is a milky version of bronze and for nude looks that don’t go too bronzy it’s absolutely ideal. I love what Paul & Joe have done with this collection – it just looks like a happy range!
Paul & Joe Ice Cream Parlour Summer 2014 launches in July – Lip Gloss is £18 in three shades – Strawberry Syrup (above), Orange Pineapple and Caramel Ribbon. Triple Cheek Colors are £21 and come in shades Berry Berry Sundae, Orange Sorbet and Chocolate Mint Gelatto. Look out too, for shell inspired Blotting Papers. Too cute to miss at £4.
