Nest Lime Zest & Matcha Candle

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I have to say that I’m super impressed with the throw on this Nest candle. It’s a very generous fragrance giver and the matcha element comes through strongly.

I always feel that tea needs to be with citrus to really make it sing and so it proves in this arrangement. Accompanying notes to matcha and lime zest are clary sage and bergamot but I think you pretty much get what it says on the box. I burned this in my kitchen and it filtered through to my office next door and through to the sitting room too so I really felt like I was getting good mood magic over a wide area.

I think to sum up, it’s a sharp citrus fragrance made creamy and smoky by the tea element – really beautiful and quick to infuse the room and beyond with scent. This size is £45 but I’m pleased to see Sephora has a small on for £16 so you can dip your toe in the water HERE as well as the larger size HERE. Also, I think fragranced candles are losing their popularity – when is the last time you bought one? I’d love to know if my instinct is right.

Oh this sounds lovely Jane, and I think you’re right if I’m anything to go by, the last one I bought was Malin & Goetz Dark Rum back in Feb I think!

It’s just a general feeling I get – that the love of candles has waned (for now!). I guess if people are feeling the pinch it would be the first thing to go.

Nice! A friend recommended Nest to me just before Christmas last year. They are really very nice. The last candles that I bought were 2 from the Espa sale. One for me, one for a present. They are really lovely. I do still love scented candles. So do most of my friends, and my nieces who love Diptyque for birthdays and Christmas. Scented candles are absolutely a luxury but I do try to have them if I can manage it. I will confess though Jane, I try to buy them when on sale or discounted and I’m usually succesful, with the exception of Diptyque.

Yes, I always think TK Maxx is a good source for fanciness – I saw some Tom Ford in there (still way too expensive for me) a while ago 🙂

Scented candles are more of a winter thing for me (once it’s warm enough to open the windows I prefer fresh air and flowers), but maybe they have become a luxury too far for some people (I was never in the Diptyque price bracket anyway because it does feel like burning money!). Also, maybe people bought a surfeit of them during lockdown and they still have a load to use up, or we’re going out more and aren’t home to burn them! £16 sounds more reasonable though.

Yes you have a good point there – but a coconut candle in summer is like a moment of holiday! I’m too easily swayed.
