[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] When I am sent a multitude of palettes from a brand, I can’t feature all of them – Morphe very generously sent me ten of their new and glorious palettes which works out at (six x 6 pan and 4 x 12 pan) 108 different colours to talk about. What I tend to do is choose the one I am least drawn to and the one I’m most drawn to and that was really quite hard in this instance because they’re all delicious. I don’t often venture into greens so I pulled out Python Code to show you first and I’ll choose a different palette for another post.
I feel as though I could be looking at a Chantecaille palette here – the quality and design are both gorgeous – impeccible.
As you can see, there are six separate shades – some far more adventurous than others. When I talk about make up I never take age into account. It’s there for all of us and I won’t have it that you need to be any prescribed age for certain looks, nor paring back because society indicates that you should. For many of us, it’s a natural progression to a bit less but you can bring your make up revs however often you want – it’s there to be enjoyed. So, in the palette above we have in the top row left to right: Tanaconda (see what they did there!), Snake Charmer and Magnetic Coil. The bottom row is Full Scale, Very Venomous and Midnight Mamba.
The colour quality, both in intensity and formula, is high. Colours with a high level of shimmer are droppy by nature – there’s no real getting around it so it’s good idea to do your eyes first and do a quick cleanse over the rest of your face before applying your base and blush. A decent couple of brushes is key – not too fluffy for application and a bit fluffy for blending. E.l.f. does great and affordable brushes (I’d recommend the Smudge N Smoke (£4 HERE) to lay your colours down because it’s densely bristled and will hold the product without spreading it everywhere. Then you can use a wider brush that’s lighter and fluffier to really blend the colours in.
Please bear in mind that I’m not a make up artist! I’ve used the light base of Tanaconda on both eyes, then on the right I’ve used Magnetic Coil over the lid and Midnight Mamba in the crease. On the left eye, I’ve used the multi-hued Very Venemous on the lid – it’s a mix of turquoise and bronze – with a tiny bit of Full Scale in the crease. Honestly, I love them both.
Having thought this was the least likely palette that I’d wear, I’ve upgraded it to one of the most likely now that I’ve seen it on. The best news is that the new 6 pan Morphe palettes are £14 and the 12 pans are £22 HERE. For reference, a Chantecaille 4 pan is £74 and I’m not even linking because that’s ridiculous.
