Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose

[unpaid/ad/sample/affiliate] If you already love Mon Guerlain then the rose twist on this version will only add to the pleasure.

Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose

It’s a very vanilla-driven fragrance whose other notes raise it from being a gourmande scent to a slightly foody-floral, but if you don’t like vanilla in your fragrance, even with the rose addition, it’s not for you. It’s rather a bright, good-mood scent and certainly has a spring-like feel – when I tried it on myself, the sun came out and the two things together felt like they were meant to be. It has a zesty aspect (as well as a fruity one) which I find interesting paired with vanilla and the dry down gets creamier and creamier as the day wears on. I’d say it’s an easy wear – it’s not going to challenge you with complexity and is the type of fragrance you can spritz every day and know you smell lovely without having to think about it all thereafter. The best price I can find it for is £44.10 HERE, non affiliate HERE, but do shop around as I’ve seen it at various RRPs.

Sounds lovelier than some of the others Mon G flankers (how many have there been since the original was launched in 2017)? I struggle with vanilla based perfumes which is a pity, but there’s plenty of other lovely scents out there to wear. It’s interesting that Dior, Lancome, Guerlain and Issey Miyake are all launching / have launched rose or rose themed flankers to Miss Dior, La Vie est Belle, Mon G and L’Eau d’Isssey close together. I have to say that Miss Dior Rose is my least favourite by some considerable distance! I wonder what we will get from the Terracotta range this year… here’s hoping. Have a lovely afternoon Jane xx

I haven’t smelled Miss Dior Rose yet – but not in any rush to do so as I just don’t ever like flankers as much as the original. You won’t like this unless you’re a vanilla fan I don’t think. Ooh, yes .. I hadn’t even thought about Terracotta yet!

Aaaah yes Miss Dior. The original chypre is an elegant wonder….sighs nostalgically. Eyes mist over just a little tiny bit…

Interesting. The original Mon Guerlain is my favourite. Does this still have the lavender note?

There is a lavender note in there but I didn’t pick it up at all.
