Malin + Goetz SPF30 Lip Balm Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There really aren’t that many truly decent SPF lip balms around – we’re very focussed on SPF for the face but the lips don’t get the same amount of attention I don’t think, especially not at level 30. Since everything from Malin + Goetz is reliable, I didn’t expect anything less from the balm and I was correct.

The thing to note is that you will, when you first apply, have a kind of milky veil over your lips which warms and disappears to a clear sheen rather than a shine. Malin + Goetz is a unisex brand so not all users will want glossy lips. It’s titanium dioxide based and infused with enough Vitamin E that your lips will feel supple and richly soft. I was away for a few days last week and over the weekend and it was sunny all day every day – the one thing that I noticed as soon as I got home was that my lips were dry and retrospectively realised that I’d relied on lip balms as my protection. I wore SPF on my face (also Malin + Goetz) and exposed parts of my body but didn’t put anything on my lips and I’m not sure how I forgot!

There’s a small amount of spearmint as flavour – I’d always prefer no flavour but brands insist that we need another sensorial aspect so what can we do *throws arms in the air, dramatically*? I like the tube applicator that allows you to either put the product directly on the lips or as I’m more fond of doing, squeezing a little out onto a finger tip and applying that way.

I was chatting with a friend the other day about how many lip balms just aren’t fit for purpose because after the initial moisture feel, the ingredients actually dry your lips out so you end up in a cycle of permanently dry lips despite reapplying and reapplying. I’m pleased to say that’s not the case here. Malin + Goetz SPF30 Lip Balm is £16 HERE and worth every last penny.

Jane been looking for an spf 50 lip balm that doesn’t taste rank think I found it Bondi sands got it in Vanilla which I don’t normally like but not overpowering. Has a bit more in staying power think it was under a fiver very pleased with it. Stopped think what is cold sores breaking out think because I am on immunosuppressants, never had them before.

Ah- good to see this! On a ‘great lip balm and not drying out your lips’ tip -the 19/99 balm is a joy to use.
