[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] 27 years old! Not Dom, the senior MAC make up artist behind the design of this year’s Viva Glam offering, but Viva Glam itself. I know you know it anyway, but as a quick recap, Viva Glam is MAC’s charitable arm that delivers help to organisations that support the health and rights of people of all ages, all genders and races in partnership with LGBTQIA+ organisations.
I love this – it’s the best ever tube I think … it’s easy to make the cardboard packaging special, but I like to see the extra effort on the tube as well. If you turn the lid around (which I didn’t for this picture and am now eye-rolling myself) the word Love appears making the message ‘Love is Love’, the PRIDE message.
The shade is 618 – a deep, brickish red that I’d run a mile from had I not tried it on specifically for this post! Sometime a swatch won’t do. It’s matte, which isn’t my preference but slick of lip balm over the top sorts that right out :-).
I like the way that MAC has spelled out exactly what one Viva Glam purchase can do – a full day of meals for 2 homeless LGBTQ+ youth or 5 newborns given medicine to prevent HIV transmission or 14 HIV tests for pregnant mothers or 7 days of groceries for a family affected by HIV or 75 women and girls equipped with HIV prevention skills or 254 condoms to prevent HIV transmission. Whew! Charities in the UK and Ireland receive the full RRP (less VAT) form each sale.
So, proof that if I can, anyone can! You can find MAC Viva Glam x PRIDE 2021 HERE for £17.99, non-affiliate is HERE.
