[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I rarely say that something is a ‘must-have’ but I’m so glad that Teddy Takeover Eye & Face Palette arrived on my desk and I haven’t stopped wearing it. I don’t feel the same enthusiasm for palettes that I used to – I think I just got to eyeshadow overload and couldn’t be bothered with them any more so it was so good to get that colour thrill again. I’ll start with how it looks on me and I think it will speak for itself…
I’m wearing the Teddy Takeover Eye & Face Palette in Light with Glitzy Teddy (the copper shade) and Twinkling Teddy (the deep brown) with Rose Gold Chiffon highlight. On my lips are the Deeply Teddy Liner and Ready Teddy Lustreglass lipstick.
It’s a tidy little compact with the highlight nestled underneath a quad of shadows. In the picture going clockwise from the top, the shades are: Plush Paradise, Cashmere Teddy, Twinkling Teddy and Glitzy Teddy. Anyone who has been a MAC fan for the duration will know that MAC Velvet Teddy is one of their best sellers and has always been so since its inception in 2004. It’s the warmth and neutral-ness of it that’s been universally loved for not washing out your face and for being both soft and strong.
These are such versatile shades – Glitzy Teddy is going to make blue and green eyes in particular absolutely pop but I love with my brown eyes too. I don’t take my eye shadow up to my brow any more (who has time for all that blending?) so I tend to look for palettes where each shade will be stand out on the lid with no need for any extras. The thing about this palette is that they all are – they can all stand on their own two feet without any need for more. I just see a lot of use in Teddy Takeover and would recommend for summer eyes and winter eyes alike. Who doesn’t like a bit of a pop? It’s £49 HERE which seems pricy but it’s four shadows and a highlighter so the breakdown is more favourable.
I’ve got a selection of lip shades here which I have swatched below. I used Ready Teddy on myself because it was the lightest shade – the others feel too deep for me but will look amazing on darker tones.
From bottom to top: Locked Kiss Ink 24H Lip Colour in Bonded With Teddy, Retro Matte Lipstick in Eternal Teddy, Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Ready Teddy and Lip Pencil in Deeply Teddy. The lipsticks are £25 each HERE and the Lip Pencil is £20.
