[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you love a warm and enveloping fragrance that makes you think of cashmere and cosy sweaters on a cold day, you don’t need to look much further than L’Occitane Neroli & Orchidee Eau Intense. It’s really about sensual warmth and grounding contentment.
Orange blossom, lime and mandarin are bringing the brightness to this almost gourmand perfume – without those sparkling citrus notes, given a boost by neroli, this would be just a little to sweet and warm for me. The heart is constructed to be gourmand but we aren’t in the realms of cupcakes here – it’s more an impression of sweetness… those notes you sometimes fleetingly catch walking past a bakery.
Given how much vanilla is in this construction (vanilla oil, vanilla infusion, green vanilla accord) there is a definite floral imprint – it’s soft and cushiony with no sharp edges so you can really sink right into it. In theory, by my own definitions, L’Occitane Neroli & Orchidee Eau Intense should not be at all to my taste and yet somehow it’s very wearable and has drawn me in. There’s an offer on at the moment that allows you to buy the fragrance, the shower gel and the hand cream as a set for £69 (value £83) HERE or the fragrance alone is £59 – I feel for an extra tenner you might as well size up with this offer. L’Occitane are offering free (sustainable) gift wrap and even if is this is just for you, I would. A proper, unapologetic gift to self :-).
