[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I have been so slow to review the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Glide Eye Pencils but I started using Cinder Smoke just randomly a couple of week’s ago. I adore black kohl but there are times when I don’t want brown and I don’t want black and neither do I want a vivid colour (it’s that peculiar pernicketiness that all beauty lovers know when amongst hundreds of colours there isn’t one that will do on this particular day) and Cinder Smoke seems to fit right into that gap so it’s having a post of its own.
Those fibres (*insert angry face) – they’re unstoppable. Never mind. Here is Cinder Smoke – a deep toned grey that certainly owns its pigment without needing to nudge at black but giving as much smoky depth as though it were the darkest of jets.
The only way to show it to its best is in the wear so this is Cinder Smoke with just a little bit of mascara.
And I’ve added some of the liner to my lid and smoked it out with a brush (because I cannot do a straight line!). I think Cinder Smoke is drama-lite – you still look smoky and sultry but in a softer, less strident kind of a way. I’ll never give up on black kohl because it’s been my go-to for so many years and I’m not of the belief that you have to temper what you wear as you age. You may want to modify but don’t let anyone tell you that there’s an age limit to a smoky eye :-). I actually read an article about when to stop wearing a smoky eye and I’m still aghast that someone took the busybodying time to lecture us on the topic. Anyway, Lisa’s beautiful Cinder Smoke is £24 at Liberty (sold out at SpaceNK) HERE.
