Linda Hallberg Flash Crayons

Instagram isn’t all ring-lit, face-tuned selfies – it’s a good place to follow skill showcasing which is where I found Linda Hallberg. She’s one of Sweden’s top make up artists but also now a digital content creator in her own right (just a handful of Insta followers at 902K – ahem!). One of my friends, Kicki, is a Swedish beauty magazine editor and brought me a set of Linda’s Flash Crayons on her last London trip. They’re amazing.

I’ve got the most horrible, low, grey January light today that even the light box isn’t helping so I’m not sure these pictures are doing the crayons full justice but you can at least see the depth of colour and the gleam. So, what’s good about these particular eye pencils is their softness which makes applying very easy – they’re proper gliders – alongside very deep pigment and the metallic flash. Basically, what I’m saying is everything about them is good; probably the best I’ve used.

They have excellent staying power, too and another benefit is that they sharpen perfectly – a lot of soft crayons don’t withstand sharpening unless you’ve put them in the fridge first, but these were fine (I dropped one and knocked the end off). Swatches bottom to top: Avoir Flash, Acrux Flash, Atria Flash, Ascella and Aueva Flash. These form the Midnight Flash Kit which is £47, or they’re £14 each. There’s a note on the site that if you have sensitive eyes, don’t use them on the inner rim (presumably because of the sparkle element). You can find them HERE.
