L’Eau Kenzo Hyper Wave

[unpaid/sample] If you’re a fan of orange blossom, L’Eau Kenzo Hyper Wave has plenty of it, as well as the headiness of lotus flower, which gives it an amplified soft and creamy aspect.

Do not adjust your sets…the bottle is wavy! It’s kind of a play on the Hokasai wave and the freedom to take to the water which seems very apt for right now when the sea or a pool or even just a bucket of iced water is very welcome indeed. I think I was expecting something more aquatic from this rather than the creamy, orangey, fruity blend I’m wearing now.

I think I like this more than previous Kenzos – the citrus aspect of grapefruit is big persuader but to my nose it isn’t quite a citrus scent but more summery-fruity-heady because the lotus kicks in almost immediately. However, as is often with fragrance, what you start with is not what you finish with – the grapefruit started to come through after about an hour’s wear by which time the lotus and orange blossom had died down. I don’t know – maybe it is a citrus!

You also get a really handy pouch thing – it’s got a clip on it so you can keep your small things in it (I could not help thinking what a great bag for dog treats…) while its attached to you or the inside of a bigger bag (in which case, lipstick and sunscreen!). The pouch is from the SEAQUAL Initiative that uses upcycled marine plastic to create various things. It’s a limited edition fragrance, and I expect the pouch is while stocks last. It’s £46 HERE and there is a ‘masculine’ version too.
