Le Metier de Beaute Peau de Vierge Anti-Ageing Complex

Ok, so this is one exciting launch coming up. Le Metier de Beaute is already one of my favourite make up brands, but due to launch in the UK (in Selfridges) in October is Peau de Vierge Anti-Ageing Complex. It’s an anti-ageing/foundation hybrid that sold out in one day when it launched at Bergdorf Goodman in 2009. Why did so many New Yorkers rush to Bergdorfs on launch day? TPM technology is why. It’s a system of retinol delivery that is able to penetrate the layers of the skin more deeply, and therefore – so the theory goes – gives active skincare (said to be 20 times more powerful than any other over-the-counter Retinol products) and a flawless finish. Retinol is known to be irritating to some skins, but Peau de Vierge’s (which incidentally means ‘virgin skin’ – we can hope, we can hope!) use of the TPM (a mix of tocopheryl phosphates) delivery makes it more efficient but less irritating, with, they say, none of the associated dryness that can come with Retinol, and drives active ingredients into the skin, but leaves a tint coverage on the surface. Other ingredients are vitamins A & E for smoothing and conditioning, Silica to absorb excess oil, Chamomile, and Ginseng Root Extract. There is also a correcting stick to hide dark circles and blemishes.

Erm, did someone just create the perfect skin care product?

Le Metier de Beaute Peau de Vierge promises results in 7 days. So far, I’ve tested it on my hand and impressed with the amount of light reflection the coverage gives, but from tomorrow it’s on trial for 7 days.

Oooh anything with Retinol that doesn’t irritate my skin I WANT. Probably the only thing (other than peels or microdermabrasion/a good scrub) that actually seems to work on fine lines. Do before and afters for the 7-day trial!

  2. I really want to try this….Selfridges is a bit far out though..kind of hope it gets sold online. Can’t wait to read the review after the trial

  3. dear me, what an unsightful name.
who calls their product: a virgin’s skin?
    totally put me off.

Unfortunately, it only comes in two tints: light/medium and medium/dark. My most recent order from Bergdorf Goodman’s came with a sample of it in light/medium, but it was still too dark for my complexion 🙁 Oh well, I’ll just stick to Renova at night. That’s about as good as it gets.

That sounds lovely! It’s a shame they are not available in my country

The medium/light one is really a tad too dark. I’ve been testing it for some 3 weeks now : I desperately wanted to like it, but unfortunately it’s way too drying for my skin. I mixed it with moisturizer, but then I don’t get the right reflexing feature anymore. Now I mix it with moist. + foundation.

  7. Sounds lush – I shall await the verdict!
