Lancome Shine Lover

Lancome Shine Lover

The new Lancome Shine Lover collection is so perfect for spring and summer. A translucent base infused with pearly pigments means that you get a wash of colour on the lip that gleams. Don’t confuse pearly pigments with a metallic sheen or anything – there’s nothing but juicy colour with these – all twenty of them!

I’ve got a selection of shades of Lancome Shine Lover – Lancome has gone heavy on the pinks with 11 colours of corals and pinks, 4 in the red spectrum and five in the nude category. So, in the swatch from bottom to top we have: O My Rouge (gorgeous… my favourite one; a red I can wear!), Effortless Pink, Amuse-Bouche, Spontanee, Inattendue, Twisted Beige (I’ve already worn this) and Fuchsia In Paris.

What I like best about these is that they’re lip-friendly – particularly for older women; Lancome Shine Lover is infused with hyaluronic and rose bush oil which is rich in fatty acids so the formula feels very softening on the lip. They do feel very balmy – lots of brands are going for these balmy washes at the moment – such a relief for women like me who can’t do a really strong, colour saturated lip. Actually, Lancome Shine Lover is intended to take your natural lip colour up one tone, but I’d say that it does a little bit more than that, depending upon what colour you choose.

I think that Lancome Shine Lover is the best thing that Lancome have done for a long while – and I love the Courrege style packaging in white, as well. Lancome Shine Lover launches in May – £21 of anyone’s money very well spent!

Just met those today (I’m in Paris) – the display was brand new but they had no actual products for sale yet. I played with the testers and the shades are beautiful, intense and shiny, I think Lancôme have a winner!

  2. These look lovely!
