Les Merveilleuses de Laduree

Of all the brands we can’t get in the UK Les Merveilleuses de Laduree Beauty is the one I’d like to see most (okay, well maybe Marc Jacobs excluded) – this brand is all about immaculate presentation. Many of their items are limited edition, as well as a strong core range. Above is a gorgeous make up palette – you can see inside one of the three variants below – with blush and eye shadows.

In many ways this brand pushes the boundaries of what is possible with make up.

Laduree Beauty Face Colour Rose

This Face Colour Powder (blush) is at the edges of achievability – I am sure the leaves are meant to be rose petals although they look a little like cabbage leaves to me! But nonetheless, this kind of delicate, labour intensive product is one of a kind so far.

Laduree Lip Lacquer

Les Merveilleuses de Laduree has launched fairly recently in France in Sephora (and Sephora on-line) which makes it a little bit closer to home (and I am sure that Sephora France ships to the UK) but I think that the price is currently excluding it from the UK market. It’s really not cheap – EU41 for a blush, for example and the Lip Lacquer above is EU31.

One of the newer Les Merveilleuses de Laduree products is the Creamy Cheek Pot with three colours of soft, fluffy blush available. I imagine it’s moussy although I don’t really know.

What do you think? Would this do well in the UK?

Great to see a niche brand being so creative – and with correct positioning and exposure I think this could do well in the UK. If I could have one beauty wish it would be for Sephora to return to the UK!
If I could have a second beauty wish it would be for a chain like Boots to stock Zoya at a price level on a par wth the US: great product, ridiculously overpriced by the few UK stockists – presumably at the behest of Zoya, but honestly if Zoya want to make serious money they would reduce their RRP and get their products in a proper mass retailer.
Thank you for always finding cool stuff to show us, even ones we can’t actually buy easily – turns trips abroad into beauty treasure hunts, Jo 🙂

  2. Whoa, that rose blush! I remember having the most amazing macarons ever from Laduree in Antwerp, and if their make up is half as good as those, it’s worth being very excited about! x

  3. This is also one of my most sought-after brands. I absolutely love it, and 5’ve managed to find a couple products thanks to eBay, but boy are they expensive… The rose petal containers can reach, quite calmly, 90€. I agree the presentation is extremely impressive and neat. It is the kind of makeup range every girls would love to own along with a gorgeous vanity, filled up with pink brushes and flowers… At least that is what I’d love to own!!

Anyways, I agree this brand could do pretty damn well in Europe, even though if that means putting a hole in my poor credit card again xD.

I loved the idea of the petal blusher when it first launched. I think if there was a counter in the Harrod’s beauty hall with a mini macaron service counter beside it, it could do well. Probably doesn’t need the macarons with it but I like the link between the two and to be able to buy macarons and make up at the same time!

  6. Those are just downright gorgeous and instantly make me think of Marie Antoinette! So so pretty – maybe even too pretty to use?

  7. Wow! I love, love amazing packaging like this. It feels like someone has actually put some effort into making / designing the product 🙂 I just wish more products / brand were available in the UK! x
