La Montana First Light Fragrance Review

[unpaid/sample] This is the last of the three fragrances from La Montana that I’ve tried. What I really like about all three is that they have a consistent thread running through them – one of sweet brightness. In the case of La Montana fragrances, all olfactory roads lead to Spain so I suppose this is the most surprising of all three because I think you’d have to spend a lot of time there throughout the seasons to understand the composition. It’s balsamic and aromatic at the start – fir, fennel and pine needle are predominant, while the dry down reveals a floral heart.

La Montana First Light Fragrance Review

I love the aniseed note that comes from the fennel. Once the geranium and rock rose start to appear, the fragrance becomes softer and further apart from the sharpness of the opening. It gives it that now familiar sweet trail that has you coming back for more sniffs – I’ve run out of my allocated sniffs for this fragrance! After a certain number, my nose goes into dead mode and I need to wait a while before smelling my wrist again. However, the memory is not gone – I can see why it’s called First Light – it’s all the things an early morning summer walk should be with the heat looming and everything still fresh and dewy. The smaller bottle of 10ml is £22 and I’d recommend you start there before upgrading to a big bottle (£65) if it speaks to you. You can find the La Montana Fragrances HERE.
